The two Asus Eee Box mini desktop PCs are called the Asus Eee Box EB1020 and the Asus Eee Box EB1021. They are built on AMD Brazos platform, including Fusion APU hybrid processors with an integrated graphics, which supports DirectX 11 API. ASUS Eee Box EB1020 Features * AMD C-50 processor (1Ghz dual core) ASUS Eee Box EB1021 Features * AMD E-350 processor (1.6Ghz dual core) Both Asus Brazos-based Eee Box nettops are expected to arrive in Q2 2011 and available in two color options – black and white. | Apple COO Tim Cook Hints at Cheaper iPhone for Emerging Markets Posted: 28 Feb 2011 10:33 PM PST According to Business Insider, Tim Cook, Apple's Chief Operating Officer, indicated at a new, cheaper iPhone on the horizon. Tim has shared this new idea with Toni Sacconaghi, Bernstein analyst, during an interview. During the interview, Cook said that Apple isn't 'ceding any market' and that he doesn't want Apple to be a brand 'just for the rich'. Business Insider believes Cook's words point to a new, cheaper iPhone in the company's future that would coincide in with reports that a new iPhone nano could be on the cards. In the past, Apple's budget option has been the outgoing iPhone models – the iPhone 3GS is currently available for less than $50 from AT&T.    | ||

Unfortunately, while rumors had pegged an Android 2.3 Galaxy S update for sometime in march the popular electronics manufacturer has yet to come forth to announce any such thing. But, if you're looking to keep your device as up to date as possible you may be interested to hear that a supposed official version (TouchWiz and all) of the Galaxy S Android 2.3.2 update has leaked for the Samsung i9000. In other words, if you own a device like the Samsung Vibrant or Samsung Captivate, this won't yet work. | Apple Working On A Slider With Physical Keyboard for iPhone 5 Posted: 28 Feb 2011 10:04 PM PST Just a few days ago, a leaked image of iPhone 5 in a Chinese website which claimed that iPhone 5 will have "Edge-to-Edge display". Now another Chinese website tw.apple.pro has shown an image of the supposed part of the 5th generation iPhone which suggests a handset with a sliding screen cover and a hardware keyboard. The image posted on that website appears to be a 30-pin dock connector cable from an unreleased iPhone, with the part number 821-1300-02 HF/c1. A rough translation of the report via Google Translate claims that recent online photos of a different part claiming to show an edge-to-edge 4-inch display in the next iPhone are fake. Some reports have suggested that Apple is considering a slightly larger screen size for its next handset. Instead, the report claims Apple has built a new iPhone model with a “sliding cover.” It notes that the alleged device has a “frame shape” similar to the current iPhone 4, though the device is “slightly thicker” than the current-generation iPhone. The Chinese website apple.pro has provided leaks to various hardware of Apple. Only time will say about the authenticity of this feature when iPhone 5 will be launched this summer!    | ||
| PlayStation 3 Shipment in Europe Seized Following LG Injunction Posted: 28 Feb 2011 09:40 PM PST The legal battle between Sony and LG hots up as a legal injunction comes into force banning the importation of the PS3 games console into Europe. European customs officers have been ordered to seize shipments of Playstation 3s after LG won a preliminary injunction against Sony in an acrimonious patent battle between the two Asian electronics giants. Any new PS3s entering the EU will also be confiscated for at least 10 days. If the ruling from the civil court of justice in the Hague, is extended it could mean that consoles may start disappearing from high street stores. The Guardian believes “tens of thousands” of PS3s were already nabbed by officers last week in the Netherlands. Sony, which imports around 100,000 of the consoles a week, is frantically trying to get the ban lifted. The Japanese company has the right to appeal to the European patents office. LG meanwhile, could apply to the same patents office to get the 10-day import ban extended. Alternatively, the Korean company could apply for a court order to get the consoles destroyed but it is highly unlikely the court would grant a request to eliminate the warehoused goods. LG argues that Sony PS3s infringe a number of its patents relating to playback of Blu-ray Discs. LG called for an investigation into the PS3′s Blu-ray use in a filing with the US international trade commission earlier this month, and said it sought a “permanent exclusion order … excluding entry into the United States” of the games console. If they’re particularly hard on Sony, LG could even apply to have the seized consoles destroyed, assuming the courts feel they could even get the ball rolling on something so drastic. The two technology giants are involved in seven messy separate patent disputes, one in which Sony is seeking to block shipments of LG smartphones to the US. Sony has sold more than 3m PS3s in the UK since its launch in March 2007. It is understood to have a stockpile of around 6,500 PS3s in Germany and 10,000 in the UK and according to The Guardian stockpiles of the PS3s could run out within two to three weeks if the ban is not lifted.    | ||

| Apple Working On Gesture Based Lock Screen for iOS Posted: 28 Feb 2011 09:12 PM PST According to 9to5mac, Apple is working on new gesture based lock screen for iOS devices. According to the source this new type of lock screen is already being tested internally. Apparently, Apple is borrowing from Android's lockscreen concept and including it in a future version of iOS. According to the report employee's Mobile Connect Application for iOS devices has already received this gesture based lock system and Apple is planning to introduce it in some other apps too. It appears Apple will not release this android like gesture based lock screen, which Google has probably patents on, for customers. But there are also rumors that Apple may incorporate it in the upcoming iOS 5 after making some modifications. MuscleNerd, the key member of iPhone Dev Team and the developer of Ultrasn0w unlock has confirmed that the upcoming iOS version, that is iOS 4.3, also contains some vulnerable commands and he is working to find a way to make it unlockable.
