Google Maps Navigation for Android Posted: 08 Mar 2011 04:51 AM PST Google Maps has included traffic data for some time, but now Google Maps for Android takes that traffic information into account and adds real-time traffic re-routing.Gogle’s latest Beta version of Google Maps Navigation uses the alternative routes Google Maps has always suggested and automatically picks the fastest one…….. Google Maps Navigation for Android is getting an update with real-time traffic re-routing and added current traffic information to their Navigation service, included inside their Android Google Maps app. With no need for another download- the data is all on Google's heaving servers- the service will use both ‘historical’ and up-to-date traffic info to adjust your routes on roads in the UK, Europe and the US.Google say that their Navigation users now drive around 35 million miles a day and Roy Williams, writing on the Google Mobile Blog, explains that: "”Before today, Navigation would choose whichever route was fastest, without taking current traffic conditions into account. It would also generate additional alternate directions, such as the shortest route or one that uses highways instead of side roads.”"Starting today, our routing algorithms will also apply our knowledge of current and historical traffic to select the fastest route from those alternates. That means that Navigation will automatically guide you along the best route given the current traffic conditions."Perhaps you’re on the road on the way to work and there is an accident several miles up the road. Anyone who lives in a crowded city knows how crappy that situation can be. Nothing is worse than being stuff in traffic because of the accident (short of being involved in said accident, which is always a terrifying experience). Still, you can reduce more risk for accident by avoiding that congested route. You will also find yourself arriving at your destination much faster and with less frustration.Real-time traffic re-routing will inform you of these sorts of things and let you know which way is best to go so you don’t find yourself in a jam. This previously wasn’t the case as the application would simply find the fastest route which usually just means the shortest distance, but that usually doesn’t take traffic conditions into account. The American watch brand, Phosphor announces the launch of its newest innovation-The Phosphor Reveal line. Phosphor Reveal marks the world’s first mechanical digital watches utilizing its proprietary Micro-Magnetic Mechanical Digital (M3D) technology. The Phosphor Reveal watch line skillfully blends design and technology to craft the ultimate fashion timepiece. Driven by M3D technology, the Phosphor Reveal watch utilizes miniature-sized rotors adorned with Swarovski crystals that revolve to reveal numerical or chronological information. With each changing minute, an electrical pulse generates an electromagnetic field that changes the position of the crystals on the face of the watch to elegantly display the passing time, while producing a distinctive sound unique to the Phosphor Reveal digital watch line. “In the last 20 years, we’ve seen a proliferation of technologies that have enhanced our lives in a million different ways, but many of these have bypassed the watch category,” Phosphor’s Managing Director Donald Brewer said. “The Phosphor Reveal line is changing that – using technology to create an elegant and distinctive fashion timepiece.”While the current line of Phosphor Reveal watches are adorned with crystals, M3D technology allows for any number of materials, such as precious metals, woods or ceramics to be affixed to the rotating segments, creating an the possibility for an endless number of unique watch faces. The Phosphor Reveal line offers six style choices: pink, red, white and black patent leather for women with crystal-adorned face frame and two black matte leather men’s band choices with or without adorned top ring. Users charge the PCs on the external ThinkPad Battery when connected to the PC or separately. A battery charge indicator shows when the battery reaches a full charge. With Intel HD integrated graphics the PCs perform twice as quickly in streaming video, editing photos and loading web pages. Additionally, USB 3.0 technology on select models transfers data lightning fast, up to 10 times that of USB 2.0. Equipped with second generation Intel Core i7 processors, applications run fast and make multi-tasking hassle-free. The PCs come with self-aware and adaptive technologies to ensure priority components receive power for the highest levels of performance and battery life. The no compromise performance experience continues with technologies that solve everyday challenges. For example, they incorporate several technologies for excellent voice and video conferencing, such as private chat and conference call microphone modes, keyboard noise suppression technology and a dedicated LED-lit microphone mute key. The PCs also keep corridor warriors connected longer with Lenovo‘s new Instant Resume function. This function maintains connections during sleep mode for up to 99 minutes, eliminating the need to login and reconnect between meetings. And tablet users don’t have to worry about losing their pen with the new never-lost-pen technology. It notifies a person when he or she moves the tablet without the pen in the pen-holder. The inside of the new PCs reveal a cleaner, sharper design over previous models. Both the ThinkPad X220 laptop and X220 Tablet feature a 12.5-inch HD screen and self-closing hinges that shut the PCs. This space-saving hinge design brings several key benefits: better antenna and speaker placement for stronger thoroughput, a 45 percent larger touchpad and a cleaner visual design. The larger, buttonless touchpad gives extra room for fingers to scroll, highlight and do multitouch gestures. For students, mobile sales forces and other mobile professionals working outside, the multitouch tablet now adds a new rough and tough feature to its super bright, 300-nit screen with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass. Already military specifications tested to meet extreme conditions, Gorilla Glass strengthens the screen so it can withstand scratches, scrapes and abuse from the field. The PCs are also business-ready: They’re easy for IT administrators to use and manage thanks to their second generation Intel Core and Core vPro processors. The result: something nearly identical to your original Flash file, but in HTML. “Wallaby” is the codename for an experimental technology that converts the artwork and animation contained in Adobe® Flash® Professional (FLA) files into HTML. Wallaby is not a final product and is still in the testing and validation phase. We are not yet able to commit to a roadmap for this experimental technology. In a release, a company rep stated, "With more than 3 million Flash developers in the creative community, Adobe continues to look for new ways to help them build on their existing skills and to make their content available to the widest possible audiences. But today Darkhacker has released a new CPU exploit which he says he’s been holding on to for some time. He states that it should get us one step closer to Metldr exploitation. The exploit is quite similar to that of geohot which is a hardware based memory glitch that was unveiled last year and for which, the poor guy is facing a lawsuit from Sony these days. This new exploit allows clean access to lv2 and game os i.e with nothing else running in the memory. Even though the exploit has been released by Darkhacker, it wasn't actually discovered by himself According to Darkhacker, the exploit should get us one step closer to Metldr exploitation: CPU Exploit – one step closer to METLDR this is a release of the hidden Cell Exploit found a while ago and one of the step taken to the metldr exploit im going to release the because i fell people should have the right to do as they wish and the information should be free to the public i know by releasing this exploit ill probably be taken to court or sued but **** sony they can go to hell all i care for what there doing to us hackers ill fight until the last min i got of my life if i have to for the right of the people for this exploit your going need a leaked service pdf (not posted on PSGroove.com files can be found at source link below) time to explain this now listen up i know you all remember the exploit with ram and so on back in 3.15 well your going look for the 'CELL RESET LINE' and that going be where the exploit is you know how the small 60ms or ns i dont remember thing sent to ps3 for the read and write of the ram ? well use line send that and connect it to the cell reset line. Al Jazeera said Gaddafi wanted guarantees of personal safety for him and his family and a pledge that they not be put on trial. It said that Gaddafi had sent former prime minister Jadallah Azzouz Talhi to meet the rebels and offer to hold a meeting of the General People’s Congress to work out the details of such a deal. |
Alaska Airlines Push for iPads As in-Cockpit Flight Aids Posted: 07 Mar 2011 10:30 PM PST Apple’s iPad won approval from US regulators to display navigational charts for some charter pilots, a step that may speed the end of the decades-old tradition of paper maps in the cockpit. Last month, the Federal Aviation Administration put its stamp of approval on Apple's iPad for in-cockpit use by pilots with the charter airline service Executive Jet Management. It is a significant step, offering pilots the option of using the tablet's touchscreen interface for pre- and in-flight course charting, a task that has relied upon paper maps since the dawn of air travel. The Executive Jet Management approval now opens the door for larger commercial airlines to pursue putting the iPad into cockpits, an FAA spokesman told Bloomberg. Such a shift in the air carrier industry would fall in line with Apple's larger plans for the device, positioning it as a tool for business as well as consumers. For now, most of the proud owners are using the iPad as a personal device but with developments like these, Apple will eventually be able to hit the commercial buyers which may help Apple raise the sales by 50 percent. There are advantages of using iPads over traditional charts like they can provide better luminosity but at the end of the day paper never malfunctions or runs out of battery. |
Motorola Will Upgrade Xoom to 4G LTE on Verizon Even for Rooted Tablets Posted: 07 Mar 2011 10:06 PM PST According to Motorola Support Forums, Motorola XOOM, the first tablet PC to arrive on the market with Google’s new Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system on board, is expected to receive an update in the near future to make it compatible with Verizon’s 4G LTE network. From Motorola Support Forums: 42. Mar 4, 2011 6:27 PM (in response to camblue) All Motorola XOOM tablets on the Verizon Wireless network are eligible to receive an upgrade to support 4G LTE. This includes those that have been unlocked; however, those units must be submitted for upgrade with the original factory software reinstalled and the device relocked in order to receive the upgrade. For devices that are returned unlocked, Motorola will attempt to complete the upgrade, but may be unable to update the software. In these cases, the device will be returned to the consumer with just the 4G LTE modem installed. More details on the process will be available closer to the upgrade availability. Even if Motorola can't get the 4G LTE modem working on rooted XOOMs, they'll at least return the slate with the new hardware installed. We imagine it'll only be a short matter of time before the Android ROM community get 4G support up and running on hacked devices. Motorola promises more details closer to the upgrade, but already a stock XOOM ROM has leaked for overly-cautious owners wanting to get as close to box-fresh as possible. |

Report: New Design of iPhone 5 With Back Aluminum Instead of Glass Posted: 07 Mar 2011 09:33 PM PST After the successfull launch of iPad 2, Apple is now working on iPhone 5.A chinese Source claims that iPhone 5 would be having a redesigned Antenna with Aluminum backing instead to apply glass surface which is present in the current iPhone or there's also some possibility to adopt iPod Touch 4G design. Apple is working Aluminum backing and redesigned Antenna for next generation iPhone 5 because Apple faced alot of problems in iPhone 4 antenna signal loss and scratching on the back glass. And there was problems too for painting white glass for iPhone 4. Decision to design iPhone 5 similar to iPod touch instead of using glass was arrived after receiving number of complaints. Apple seems to stop damages from scratching, issues after painting it white (for white iPhone 5), weight of glass and want to make it more durable instead. Antenna will be designed just behind Apple Logo so that cellular and Wi-Fi signal can penetrate easily. Side exposed steel antennas seem to be abandoned, as designed in iPhone 4. The Source site also claims that iPhone 5 will be galloping on the multi-processor A5 which is currently present in the iPad 2. The release of the iPhone 5 is much expected in the month of June or July at WWDC 2011 which indicates as the Apple way as we look how previous iPhones got announced. Thanks |

Cricket store in my area can do it, but they are charging 125 for full flash, ill keep the evo for now! Few days ago, a Chinese carrier named China Telecom managed to unlock the CDMA based Verizon iPhone to run on their CDMA network. Can I flash a phone to work on the Cricket network? Yes, Cricket will activate any phone that's been flashed to work on the Cricket network. Cricket corporate stores currently do not flash phones to work on the Cricket network but many of the indirect dealer (both standard and premier) have the ability to flash a customer's phone, and most corporate stores will be able to tell a customer where to go to have their phones flashed to Cricket. If you choose to activate a non-Cricket phone on the Cricket network, there is a possibility that some of the phone features or service plan features may not operate. Additionally, flashed phones are not eligible for the Cricket Phone Replacement Program or Cricket Warranty Exchange Program. Not all phones are capable of being flashed to work on the Cricket network. Checkout the video below. Thanks |
