Eyez Video Recording Glasses

Posted: 09 Mar 2011 01:55 AM PST

Eyez video recording glasses promise to revolutionize social networking and will revolutinize video on Facebook, YouTube and LieStream.Eyez is the latest innovation in social media technology. Eyez are HD video recording eyeglasses that allow users to easily broadcast live, mobile, hands-free video footage to their preferred social networking site……..

Eyez embeds an HD 1080p video camera within the frame of the eyeglasses to record live video data. The recorded data can be stored to the 16GB of flash memory within the Eyez glasses, transferred via Bluetooth or Micro USB to a computer or wirelessly transferred to most iPhone or Android devices. After a one-time download of the Eyez smartphone and tablet app, users can wirelessly broadcast the video in real time to their preferred social networking website.”Sharing personal experiences online will no longer be a written status update and a few photos, but a full length HD video journal,” said ZionEyez LLC co-founder Brent Burroff. “Eyez gives people the ability to share the world as they see it in real time, from a truly first person perspective, without compromising convenience or style.”

Currently, the most popular way to record mobile video is via smartphone or digital camera. However, while the online social network platforms are excellent for receiving the video, physically recording the video remains problematic. Many recorded video streams are short, largely because it is uncomfortable for users to continuously hold their cameras up for longer than a few minutes. Also, users are forced to watch the event they are recording through the miniature mobile phone screen, rather than enjoying the action as it unfolds in front of them.Eyez solves both of these problems. Now users can comfortably broadcast live video completely hands-free, and without the burden of watching it through a tiny screen. Users can simply tap the power sensor, open the Eyez app and then forget about it. Several networking sites, including Qik and LiveStream will broadcast to users profiles’ and save the videos to cloud storage. If users prefer not to broadcast the video to the internet or to their mobile, the data will automatically save to the built-in flash memory, allowing for an easy upload later via Micro USB or Bluetooth.

While employing cutting-edge technological advances, Eyez glasses are also practical for daily use. Users can choose from high quality removable lenses in both clear and shaded tones. In addition, the shape of Eyez glasses is extremely popular, so most optical stores can easily fit the appropriate prescription lenses.”Eyez will be loved by everyone,” says co-founder of ZionEyez LLC, Evan Lindquist. “Dad can broadcast his son’s game-winning catch to out-of-town family members so they can all cheer him on in real time. Outdoor enthusiasts will finally be able to stream themselves kayaking, mountain climbing, or snowboarding. A college student can record lectures to study for an exam and then later that night capture the highlights of his campus party scene.”Social networking is constantly being reinvented as technology advances, and the future of live broadcasting online is finally breaking free from its constraints. The world is ready for social networking to take the next big leap into the future and Eyez video recording glasses are at the forefront of this technological evolution.

HTC Flyer Tablet Pre-Order Exceeds One Million

Posted: 09 Mar 2011 01:51 AM PST

During the MWC 2011 show in Barcelona, HTC unveiled their first HTC Flyer tablet running Android. And now the Flyer tablet has already notched up orders of the tune of about a million units. It is coming up a bit higher then the entry level iPad 2 but the Flyer is 7 inches and targets a different style of mobile user.

The tablet doesn't use Android Honeycomb, which allows HTC to provide their own Sense interface which plays two roles: improving ergonomics by making it easier to access the primary functions and to offer a common user experience across all of their products – distinguishing themselves from other manufacturers.

The HTC Flyer also brings back the stylus, something which has not been seen since the first tactile devices, with the tablet being a planner/notepad/design pad with a 7″ diagonal screen that offers a sufficiently compact screen allowing you to carry it anywhere with you.

Finally, HTC has negotiated partnerships to offer VOD services (HTC Watch) and online games (with OnLive) to open the tablet up to entertainment possibilities. Without having to visit download portals and content providers which may be provided by the competition, with this adding additional features and richness that other products don't have.

Immersion MOTIV SDK 1.0

Posted: 09 Mar 2011 12:27 AM PST

Immersion releases MOTIV SDK 1.0 to put haptics in Android, helps smartphones move what their makers gave them.Immersion’s MOTIV SDK provides developers with the tools to make apps rumble with tactile feedback and provides the mobile ecosystem with access to the world of tactile interfaces…….

Immersion Corporation, a leading developer and licensor of touch feedback technology announced the release of the MOTIV SDK 1.0, a tool kit for Android developers to integrate tactile feedback, or haptics, into their applications. The availability of the SDK completes the recent launch of Immersion’s MOTIV Haptic Development Platform.Available at http://developer.immersion.com/, the MOTIV SDK gives Android developers access to hundreds of pre-designed haptic effects, code samples and resources to easily incorporate tactile feedback into their applications.“We believe that haptics has the potential to fundamentally change and enhance the mobile user experience,” explains Rob Lacroix, VP of Engineering at Immersion. “The MOTIV SDK is designed to eliminate the complexities of integration and allows developers to focus on the creative process of designing compelling new touch experiences for users.” Haptic feedback is always best experienced in person. Immersion will be demonstrating applications that utilize the MOTIV SDK and will be hosting a session on designing applications with haptics at the AnDevCon conference in San Francisco on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. If you’re unable to experience MOTIV in person, download MOTIV effect preview app or view Virtual MOTIV Demonstrations.

Features :

  • Enhanced User Experience:
    • Apps designed with tactile feedback are more engaging and fun, and are differentiated in a crowded marketplace
    • Developers can use haptics to create a more customized and realistic experience by adding the sense of touch. Examples of haptics being incorporated into apps include:
    • Feeling the strings of a guitar app vibrate as the user strums the strings
    • A player of a first-person shooter game feels a distinct difference in the kickback of a bazooka, versus a pistol or a laser
    • -Building anticipation (and pressure) through a crescendo effect as haptics sensations increase while time runs out during a timed application
    • Enjoying the feeling of success as a puzzle confirms a successful move with a satisfying “snap”
    • Adding a tactile effect helps a player adjust aim and provides context to improve accuracy
  • Easy to Use:
    • Library of pre-designed haptic effects directly accessible from the API means developers simply choose which explosion best matches the action in a game or what recoil the user should feel when they shoot a weapon
    • The MOTIV effect preview app available on the Android Market provides a quick way for developers to experience and test effects on any Android handset
    • Sample code provides the resources to easily incorporate effects into code
  • Ubiquitous:
    • Not all handsets are created equal; they utilize different underlying actuator technology and control software to create haptic feedback. The highest quality haptic experiences are found in handsets with Immersion’s TouchSense embedded software, which is found in many of today’s Android handsets. However the MOTIV SDK is not restricted to just these handsets. The MOTIV SDK automatically optimizes haptic effects across all Android handsets to reduce code fragmentation while still providing a high quality experience for all.
    • The MOTIV SDK currently supports Android 2.1 and later and is designed to be forward compatible. We intend to extend support into future Android releases.
  • Supported:
    • The MOTIV API, forum, and reference documentation are available for questions and troubleshooting
    • Immersion is committed to listening to the development community as we work to continuously improve our SDK.

Report: Apple To Release iOS 5 Along With New MobileMe In April

Posted: 08 Mar 2011 11:34 PM PST

According to a German Web site Apple is planning to hold a media event in April to introduce revamped MobileMe services and iOS 5. MacRumors.com, via Macerkopf.de, is claiming to have knowledge of the event, to be held “on Apple’s campus in the 14th or 15th week of the year.”

The reason for a MobileMe and iOS 5 sharing an event could be a deep integration between the two. Rumors of a cloud-syncing service for iTunes music have been doing the rounds for some time now, as have claims that the next point-0 release of iOS will receive a complete overhaul of the way iDevices handle notifications. Rumors of advanced cloud-integration have been closely linked with yet more noise about a possible iPhone Nano, though that is looking increasingly unlikely.

Apple announced (and showed a preview of) iOS 4 on April 8 last year. It is likely that Apple’s development schedule for iOS, iPhones, and iPads remains fairly stable, making an early April preview of iOS 5 somewhat probable.

HD MP4 Movie Mode
MP4 is a popular format for high definition video that compresses the size of your audio and video, making your media files small enough to easily transfer to your compatible PC or Mac. MP4 is also highly compatible with the Web, so you can effortlessly upload your media to popular photo or video-sharing Web sites like Photobucket or YouTube. (Compatible PC with internet capability required).

Active Mode
Optical SteadyShot image stabilization with Active Mode represents the next step forward in Sony image stabilization technology, and allows the camera lens a greater range of motion for a superior level of image smoothness. Now you can capture smooth movies on your camera while on the move.

Optical SteadyShot image stabilization
Optical SteadyShot image stabilization uses a built-in gyro sensor to detect camera shake and automatically shifts the lens to help prevent blur without sacrificing image quality.

GPS and Compass

Backlight Correction HDR
Shooting high-contrast scenes can often lead to washed out backgrounds and details lost in shadow. Backlight Correction HDR helps correct for this by taking two pictures at different settings and processing the best elements of both into a single image.

Self-Portrait Timer
Self-Portrait Timer helps take the guesswork out of self portraits by utilizing Face Detection technology to recognize when your face enters the frame. Once the camera detects your face, it triggers a 2-second timer, and then snaps a picture.

Intelligent Auto (iAuto) mode
Unlike traditional auto mode, Intelligent Auto (iAuto) mode thinks for you, recognizing scenes, lighting conditions, and faces, and adjusts settings resulting in clearer images, faces with more natural skin tone, and less blur. By incorporating advanced features such as Intelligent Scene Recognition, Face Detection technology, and Optical SteadyShot image stabilization, iAuto mode lets you take advantage of the latest Sony Cyber-shot technology without leaving auto mode. Whether you’re shooting landscapes, capturing a beautiful flower, or taking pictures at an in-door birthday party or wedding shower, iAuto mode will optimize your camera’s settings to help ensure you come away with a great shot.

Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) Mode
Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) Mode automatically detects eight different types of scenes and, within just 1/30th of a second, selects the appropriate camera settings: Backlight, Backlight Portrait, Twilight, Twilight Portrait, Twilight using a tripod, Portrait, Landscape, and Macro. iSCN has two modes: Auto and Advanced. In Auto Mode, the camera takes a single shot using the optimal settings.

High Sensitivity Mode (ISO 3200)
High ISO allows for faster shutter speed, so you can take photos indoors or in low light without the need for a flash. In addition to High Sensitivity Mode (ISO), you can select up to seven ISO settings (Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200) when shooting in Program Auto Mode to adjust sensitivity to your shooting conditions.

Face Detection helps ensure you focus on the right subject

Face Detection technology
Sony’s Face Detection technology can automatically distinguish between children and adults. Face Detection technology detects up to eight individual faces and adjusts flash, focus, exposure, and white balance to help deliver crisp, properly lit images of family and friends.

Motion Detection
Motion Detection, along with Face Motion Detection adjusts ISO sensitivity and increases the shutter speed when movement is detected, reducing blur in moving subjects and faces.

Anti-blink Function
It’s frustrating to think you’ve captured that perfect shot, only to review it later and discover one of your subjects blinked just as you pressed the shutter. When the camera is set to Soft Snap, the Anti-blink function captures two images, recording only the photo with less squinting or blinking. If a blink is detected in other shooting modes, a warning will be displayed after you take the shot.

iOS 4.3 Possibly Coming Today,March 9

Posted: 08 Mar 2011 11:21 PM PST

Apple might drop iOS 4.3 public version today at 10 AM. BGR has reported the possible early release for iOS 4.3. Where it was announced at iPad 2 Media Event that iOS 4.3 would be released on March 11th, its hard to measure the validity of this new rumor.

Also their report confirms that iOS 4.3 supports 5 devices for the personal hotspot feature, but this may be reduced to 3 (as rumors suggest) by the carrier networks.

On the other side, those jailbreakers who don't want to lose the jailbroken state should not update their iDevices to iOS 4.3 version. The obvious reason being that an official jailbreak is not yet available.

Moreover, there are also confirmed news that Mobile Substrate is not fully compatible with iOS 4.3. Most of the apps available in Cydia store use this mobile substrate to work properly.

Download Unofficial PwnageTool Bundles to Jailbreak iOS 4.3 GM Without Needing Ramdisk Fixer

Posted: 08 Mar 2011 11:04 PM PST

Two famous developers, iH8sn0w and jcf_dev have released new unofficial PwnageTool bundled which can be used to jailbreak iOS 4.3 GM version without needing Ramdisk Fixer.

Part 1: Download the Required Tools:

Download the following tools before you start the actual jailbreak process:

* Download latest iTunes 10.2 and install it on your Mac machine.
* Download PwnageTool
* Download PwnageTool bundles
* Download Universal Ramdisk Fixer
* Download iOS 4.3 GM (devs only)

Part 2: Patching / Modifying PwnageTool using custom bundles

Since official Pwnagetool doesn't support iOS 4.3, we have to modify it using the custom PwnageTool bundles.

Step 1: Right click on the PwnageTool which you download in Par-1 and then click on "Show Package Contents".

Step 2: Navigate to this path /Contents/Resources/FirmwareBundles and put the bundle folder which you downloaded for your device in Part 1 in this location.

Step 3: Close the folder.

Part 3: Creating Custom iOS 4.3

Step 1: Launch the updated iTunes.

Step 2: Back up your device.

Step 3: Launch modified PwnageTool.

Step 4: Now select your iPhone and click the blue arrow to continue.

Step 5: Browse for iPSW file (iOS 4.3 GM) which you have already downloaded in Part 1. (Make it sure that iPSW file is placed on desktop)

Step 6. Now hit the Build button to cook the custom firmware and save it on your PC.

Part 4: Restoring iOS 4.3 Custom Firmware

Put your iPhone into DFU mode. PwnageTool will help you in this process. Follow the onscreen instructions for this purpose

* Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
* Now release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds
* You device should now be in DFU mode

After the iPhone is in DFU mode, launch iTunes and it will tell you it has found an iPhone in recovery mode. Press OK to continue.

To install the custom cooked firmware, press the Alt/Option key and click on "Restore" in iTunes.

Now wait for few minutes until iTunes does its job. The iPhone will reboot after it has been restored successfully.

Part 5: Booting the Device in Tethered Boot

Since iOS 4.3 jailbreak is tethered, we will have to connect the device with PC and use a software "tetheredboot" to boot it into a tethered jailbroken state.

Tetheredboot utility requires two files from iOS 4.3 to do its jobs. The names of those files are

* kernelcache.release.n90,
* and iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu.

To get these files, change the extension of iOS 4.3 from .ipsw to .zip and extract it. You will find them under /Firmware/dfu/ folder.

Put all these files and tetheredboot utility into a new folder on desktop and name it "tetheredboot".

Method 1 to Invoke Tethered Boot:

Start terminal and run the following commands:

sudo -s

type your admin password and run:

/Users/aamirusman/Desktop/tetheredboot/tetheredboot
/Users/aamirusman/Desktop/tetheredboot/iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu
/Users/aamirusman/Desktop/tetheredboot/kernelcache.release.n9

Replace "aamirusman" with the name of user on your Mac machine and "Desktop" with name of location where you placed the "tetheredboot" folder.

When you are asked to put your device into DFU mode, follow the same method you used in Part 5. After a short period of time you will see "Exiting libpois0n" in the terminal windows which indicates your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch will be booted within few moments.

Method 2 to Invoke Tethered Boot:

Put your device into DFU mode. Open the terminal and run the following commands.

cd /Users/username/Desktop/Tetherboot/
./tetheredboot iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu kernelcache.release.n90

You can also check this command, posted by DjayB6 over twitter, to boot the device tethered.
