| ASUS Eee PC T101MT Convertible Tablet Posted: 31 Mar 2011 04:29 AM PDT Asus has announced their latest device, the Eee PC T101MT convertible tablet. This Asus convertible tablet gets new Atom N570 dual core processor. The 'original' ASUS Eee PC T101MT was boasts a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 and integrated Intel GMA3150 graphics.
At launch it featured a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N450 single core processor. The new version of the Eee PC T101MT will come with a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N570 dual core chip. The rest of the specs are largely the same, with the laptop supporting up to 2GB of RAM, and 320GB of disk space. The convertible tablet will come with 4 and 6 cell battery options. The new model was unveiled at an event in Italy, where Asus says the computer will be available in mid-April for about 499 Euros. The Eee PC T101MT will run Windows 7 Home Premium in Italy — but while last year's model was available with Windows 7 Home Premium in Europe, it shipped with Windows 7 Starter Edition in the US. There's no word on whether the new model will be available in the US or what OS it would run if and when it comes to the States. To add more charging stations to Google Maps, the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) are working to make more data available.

| You Will Soon Be Able To Charge Your iPod With Your Heartbeat Posted: 31 Mar 2011 12:29 AM PDT Chemists may have discovered a way to charge small electronics, such as iPods and cell phones, with your heartbeat. Nanotech generator discoveries by Dr. Zing Lin Wang from the Georgia Institute of Technology are planning to present their new invention. The team behind the invention hopes that as the nanotechnology used in the chip evolves, it could lead to electronics which don’t require batteries or mains power.
In theory, any body movement, even the pinch of a finger, could be used to generate power. So far the team used the technology to transmit a radio signal and to power LCD displays and diodes, but they are convinced it can go much further. Lead researcher Zhong Lin Wang from Georgia, said: 'This development represents a milestone toward producing portable electronics that can be powered by body movements without the use of batteries or electrical outlets.' 'Our nano-generators are poised to change lives in the future. Their potential is only limited by one's imagination,' Wang added. The technology works by using zinc oxide nanowires, which generate electricity when strained or flexed. This means that almost any body movement, be it a heartbeat or walking, can generate power. Each chip is made up of millions of nanowires, which are so small that 500 could fit in a human hair. The combined power of five nanogenerators produced about one micro ampere output current at three volts, which is around the same voltage generated by two regular AA batteries. Dr Wang said: “While a few volts may not seem like much, it has grown by leaps and bounds over previous versions of the nanogenerator. “Additional nanowires and more nanogenerators, stacked together, could produce enough energy for powering larger electronics, such as an iPod or charging a cell phone.” The findings were presented at the National Meeting & Exposition of the American Chemical Society. | AT&T And T-Mobile Will Improve iPhone Service Posted: 31 Mar 2011 12:08 AM PDT According to Bloomsberg report, AT&T's CEO Randall Stephenson told that the AT&T and T-Mobile deal will improve the network connectivity and various other services for devices such as Apple's iPhone.
"This transaction is very instrumental" in improving network service, said Stephenson at the event. "Virtually on the day you close the deal, getting a 30 percent lift in capacity in New York City: that's a significant improvement in call quality and data throughput." AT&T made the announcement they would buy T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom AG on March 20. The deal would bring together the second- and fourth-largest U.S. wireless operators and create the country's largest. First, the deal must have regulatory approval. AT&T said that part of the deal involves rolling out more high speed wireless capabilities, which will help the U.S. Federal Communications Commission meet its goal of getting more broadband available to more areas. | Wall Street Analysts Estimates On iPhone 5 Delays Posted: 30 Mar 2011 11:26 PM PDT According to Business Insider, Wall Street analysts have begun cutting Apple estimates after rumors that the iPhone 5 won't launch on its previously expected schedule. Panasonic and XPAND 3D announced that they have formulated M-3DI, a new standard for 3D active-shutter eyewear products that will bring about compatibility among 3D TVs, computers, home projectors and cinema projection. Other leading 3D technology providers for televisions, projectors and cinemas have agreed to participate in supporting the new standard, including Changhong Electric Co. Ltd., FUNAI Electric Co. RIM had a Social Media conference today in Toronto, and my entire college business and marketing class was invited to the event. RIM's co-ceo Jim Balsillie revealed that they plan to bring BBM and "other services" to iPhone on April 26 via the app store.
