Google announced that in-app billing which was announced back in January would be available at the Android Market next week.Apps included in the in-app billing are now available to developers for testing. Developers can upload and test apps but they can not publish them until Google launch the service next week.Android users will soon be able to purchase game and app upgrades from within apps, putting Google in a stronger position to compete against Apple in the booming app market.The Mountain View, Calif.-based search giant invited developers to test out its in-app purchasing service.The company said the payment procedure during the testing phase would be precisely the same as it would be for the actual consumers during live transactions. Earlier at January's Inside Mobile conference in San Fransisco, Eric Chu from the Android developer ecosystem had expressed his disapproval for Android Market's lack of in-app purchases.
At the event, Eric promised that the company would pump more money into merchandizing, payments, downloading and all that.Rolling out in-app purchasing would add a valuable feature to Android apps, helping developers and game makers generate additional profits. | Nook Color To Get Flash, Email and App Store Posted: 26 Mar 2011 11:44 PM PDT Barnes & Noble‘s Nook Color e-reader will receive a software update in April. It will be the only tablet to get Flash Playback support with Email and an App Store features as announced by its manufacturers. The Home Shopping Network (HSN) spilled the beans on the Nook software update via a product listing on its site.
According to HSN’s listing, the software update for the Nook Color will bring the e-reader closer to a full-featured Android tablet thanks to a software update. The patch is set to bring a Web browser (with Adobe Flash support) and an e-mail client. The Nook Color already features a music player and can play videos in MP4 format. Similarly to Amazon‘s move into the app store market (for smartphones, so far), Barnes & Noble is also expected to introduce its own store for the Nook Color via this software update. Around eight apps will be available at launch “and more will become available after the April update.” HSN’s listing claims that customers who bought a Nook Color from them will be the first to receive the software update enabling the extra features, saying the new updates will be sent out automatically if the device in connected to Wi-Fi. The HSN also showed Nook Color tablet with a price of $311 including freight expanses. The segment also describes the boasted $504 retail value and a normally listed price of $379.95. | Screenshots Of Windows 8 System Reset Controls Leaked Posted: 26 Mar 2011 10:30 PM PDT Microsoft developers have apparently decided to develop a new feature called System Reset for Windows 8 desktop operating system. The most recent leak appeared first on a Chinese Windows news site. The screenshot shows part of a Control Panel applet called Restore this computer.
Folks over at Win7China (translated version) have leaked an image of Windows 8 System Reset feature. See below.
It displays two options, first to use System Restore to restore to a recent point in time, and second to restore the operating system to its original factory settings. The second feature, called System reset, was already reported as one of the new Windows 8 features earlier this month. It basically allows the Windows admin to reset the full operating system to the state right after initial installation. It was rumored earlier that the new System Reset feature could reset the system in 2 minutes. More information on this Windows 8 feature - This feature will remove all the software you have installed, and restore Windows to the default settings, however, you can choose whether to keep your user account information and personal files. Either way this will be an interesting and welcome addition to Windows 8 and, while the operating system is still under development, and features may change, it will be interesting to see if it changes for the final version, due next summer. The latest update is meant to fix some minor bugs, exploits and battery life issues on all iOS devices. We have already covered jailbreak iPhone 4 iOS 4.3.1 guide and now here is our guide to jailbreak iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.3.1 for both new & old bootrom based on DjayB8 pwnagetool bundles.
The complete step by step instructions to jailbreak iPhone 3GS (New & Old bootrom) is given below. Requirements: * PwnageTool 4.2 Step 1: Right click on PwnageTool App and select Show Package Contents.
Step 2: Now navigate to following folder /Contents/Resources/FirmwareBundles.
Step 3: Now copy PwnageTool Bundles for iPhone 3GS 4.3.1 iOS and place it in above "FirmwareBundles" folder and close the folder. Step 4: Now start RamdiskFixer_v1.7.1 and follow the on screen instructions & complete the installations (you must comply with readme file of ramdisk fixer).
Step 5: Now start PwnageTool and create the iOS 4.3.1 custom firmware for iPhone 3GS
Step 6: Now start iTunes 10.2 and create iPhone 3GS backup for safety. Turn off your iOS device, and start Terminal on OS X and run the following commands: sudo -s enter your administrator password, then: /Users/TaimurAsad/Downloads/tetheredboot/tetheredboot You will have to of course replace "TaimurAsad" with the name of the directory on your computer. now press enter. You should now see some code running in the Terminal window, at some point, it will ask you to enter DFU mode. Now follow the following steps to enter DFU mode: * Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds Now wait for your device to boot, Terminal at this point will be showing "Exiting libpois0n" message. | Apple To Release The First GM of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Posted: 26 Mar 2011 09:46 AM PDT According to TechCrunch, Apple is ready to seed developers with the first GM release of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. It's an interesting rumor. Although they are classifying the release as "GM1," Apple traditionally releases Gold Masters only a few weeks before the actual software ships.
Apple is gearing up to deploy an OS X Lion update to developers that they may be classifying as the "GM1″ release, we've heard. "GM" or "Golden Master" is a title reserved for software that is complete. But from what we've heard, this is only the initial Golden Master candidate. In other words, don't get too excited just yet. Apple's plan is to release the final version of Mac OS X Lion in Summer. Given that GM candidates are already nearing, it looks like Apple is on schedule. If there were no bugs in its first GM candidate release, we can expected Apple to release the final version of Mac OS X Lion in few weeks from the day when GM is released.
