This method voids your XOOM's warranty so make sure that you understand the risks involved.

The new beta 5 for Android and Maemo devices continues with the type of improvements we’ve seen in previous betas, granting even more speed boosts as well as greater stability.
Beta 4 is boasting faster page loading, improved JavaScript support, reduced memory usage, and support for add-ons that are currently making their debut in the desktop version of the Firefox 4 beta. Registered developers can download the release from developer.apple.com/mac. Interestingly, Apple is making the release available via a Mac App Store Redeem Code.
This is a pre-release version of Xcode 4.1 for both Mac and iOS development. This release requires Mac OS X Lion and includes iOS SDK 4.2. Continue to use Xcode 3.2.5 on a Snow Leopard partition if you plan to submit Mac or iOS apps to the App Store.

| New Exploit for Untethered Jailbreak of iOS 4.3 Will Be Released Next Week Posted: 25 Feb 2011 12:17 AM PST iPhone hacker Stefan Esser has claimed that he has a new exploit for Jailbreaking iOS 4.3 untethered which will ultimately lead to the unlocking of the device on iOS 4.3.
I heard @securetips will release a iOS 4.3 untether exploit after next weekend. Follow him for news. @bojill @securetips is an anonymous hacker who works for Apple, go figure… It shows that the Jailbreak for iOS 4.3 would be released before or right after its official release from Apple.
According to Stefan Esser, SecureTips would be an anonymous hacker who works for Apple . Therefore it is easy to assume that the person in question has already been able to thoroughly study the new firmware 4.3 which will be released later this month we remember, so having a way to work on new vulnerabilities that allow even the jailbreak of the upcoming version of iOS. |

| iOS 4.3 Golden Master Build 8F190 Ready To Release Next Week Posted: 24 Feb 2011 11:48 PM PST According to BGR, Apple has finalized the code of iOS 4.3 internally for iPhone, iPod, iPad, AppleTV and iPad 2. The announcement is expected in the March 2nd iPad event. The build number for iOS 4.3 is 8F190.
One of our Apple sources has just informed us that it looks like Apple has finalized the code for its upcoming iOS 4.3 release. The build, we're told, is 8F190 for those keeping track. Maybe we'll see this release unify the Verizon iPhone OS-wise as well? We'll probably see this in the wild next week if we had to bet… In addition to bug fixes and performance improvements, iOS 4.3 will also bring some new features like personal WiFi hotspot, enhanced support for AirPlay video streaming etc. iOS 4.3 final version will also include the patches for all existing jailbreak exploits. So if you rely on unlock or want to keep your iPhone/iPad jailbroken, don't upgrade your device to this version until iPhone Dev Team or Chronic Dev Team comes up with new working jailbreak. |

MobileMe single license and family pack are no longer available on Apple’s online store. In addition, resellers have indicated to AppleInsider that both the MobileMe Single User product (identified as MC660Z/A) and Family Pack (MC661Z/A) have been declared “End of Life” by Apple.Apple notified resellers that it has discontinued the retail box version of MobileMe, shifting entirely to digital sales. Existing stocks of boxed MobileMe can continue to be sold while their supplies last.Users of MobileMe were also notified of scheduled maintenance for the me.com website. The service’s Web-based applications may not be accessible to some users for about a half-hour tonight, after which normal service is expected to be restored.Since the boxed MobileMe products contain only an activation code and promotional materials, the offering of a physical MobileMe product has primarily been used to provide in-store visibility for the service. The changes come as Apple is rumored to be revamping the MobileMe service and is also said to be considering making the product free. The New York Times reported this month that Apple plans to turn MobileMe into a free service that would serve as a digital locker where users could store photos, music and videos.Consequently, the discontinuation of boxed MobileMe products could be paving the way for a sell-off of existing stock and a brief period of digital-only sales before transitioning to a free service.Apple‘s North Carolina data center has been the subject of considerable speculation regarding potential cloud-based offerings. Apple acknowledged atshareholder meeting that the center is not yet open, but should be opening soon to support MobileMe and iTunes. | Report: Early Preview of iOS 5 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch on March 2nd Posted: 24 Feb 2011 11:35 PM PST According to a report by Engadget, Early preview of iOS 5 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch is expected to launch on Wednesday, March 2nd at iPad press event at the famous Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
No such feature or anything special has been revealed about iOS 5 yet but a new revamped notification system is expected to announce. It's also almost guaranteed that we'll see the next version of iOS (number 5 in all likelihood, along with its SDK for devs), and an expansion of Apple's cloud services (that part is a little… foggy right now). Of course, that will perfectly set up Apple's announcement of the iPhone 5 in June, which is when iPad owners can likely expect to be using the new software. Regardless, we'll have the goods come next week, so stay tuned! Apple is expected to release iOS 5 with the next-gen iPhone 5 in summer this year. |

If patience isn't your thing and the OTA version of the update just seems too far out of reach, you can manually update your handset to Android 2.3.3 now by following a few easy steps.
The steps are as follows. Step 1: Download the update and rename the file update.zip Step 2: Connect your Nexus One to your PC/Mac and copy that file to your microSD card. Step 3: Power down your Nexus One. Then press 'power' and hold the trackball. Step 4: You'll see a screen appear with three Android robots and you'll see some code. Using the volume buttons, select 'Bootloader' and then press 'Power' to select. Step 5: On the next screen, select 'Recovery'. Step 6: The Nexus One will reboot. You'll see a triangle with and Android robot and an exclamation point. Step 7: Press the volume up button and the power button at the same time. Step 8: Using the trackball, select "Apply sdcard: update.zip". That’s it. |

The update is aimed to bring more NFC related features along with random reboot fixe for Nexus S and several other bug fixes and other software performance update & stability enhancements.
If you haven't got the OTA update notification yet, you can install it manually by following the instructions given below. Step 1: Download the official Android 2.3.3 update for Nexus S. Step 2: Copy it to the root of your micro-sd card. Step 3: Now power off your phone, hold down the "Volume Up" button, followed by the "Power" button to turn it back on. Step 4: Boot your device in recovery mode by holding the trackball and pressing once on the power button Step 5: Now when you see an exclamation mark –like image on the screen, hold down the "Power" button followed by "Volume Up" button. Step 6: At this stage you should be presented with Android's Recovery menu. Apple did give engadget a quick demo on the new system with a prototype Promise RAID unit and a stock Cinema Display connected over Thunderbolt.Thunderbolt just uses a Mini DisplayPort connector, so displays can be daisy-chained right in. Apple’s demo was a variation of the same thing Intel’s been doing for a while they played four uncompressed HD video streams off the RAID simultaneously, which pegged the Thunderbolt throughput meter at 600-700MBps. Apple also told that Thunderbolt is running on copper and not optical cables (like the Light Peak protoypes) so that it can support bus-powered devices there’s 10 watts of power available on the bus, up slightly from FireWire‘s 8 watts. Apple released a developer preview of Mac OS X Lion which takes some of the best ideas from iPad and brings them back to the Mac for the eighth major release of the world’s most advanced operating system.
