| Sony Demanding Youtube Account Info of Geohot and Fail0verflow Posted: 09 Feb 2011 02:31 AM PST Sony has demanded that Youtube hand over the account information of everyone who ever viewed or commented on PlayStation hacking videos. Sony also wants Twitter to release information on hackers known to have released a version of the jailbreak Geohot put together.
Wired covered the whole story as: The company is demanding that a federal judge order Google to surrender the IP addresses and other identifying information (.pdf) of those who have viewed or commented about the jailbreak video on a private YouTube page. The game maker is also demanding that Twitter provide the identities of a host of hackers who first unveiled a limited version of the hack in December. A hearing is tentatively set for Wednesday. Sony filed its documents about 7:30 p.m. PST on Friday. In what has widely been described as an outrageous and frightening case, Sony has sued Geohot for jailbreaking the PS3. The Electronic Frontier Foundation notes that Sony claims it has rights in the computer it sells you even after you buy it, and therefore can decide whether your tinkering with that computer is legal or not. The U.S. Copyright Office has exempted cell phone jailbreaking from being covered by the DMCA; however, the PS3 and other gaming consoles have yet to be exempted.

Though the new Verizon iPhone 4 has been tested regularly and frequently, but still it suffers from the same antenna issues that was found in the original GSM based iPhone 4 that was released back in June last year.
the CDMA iPhone 4 can still lose substantial cellular signal strength when held in the prior "death grip" position, as well as Wi-Fi signal when held in a different position, in each case noticeably slowing or completely stalling the reception of data. Also, the so called "death grip" or "death hug" in CDMA iPhone4 case affects both cellular and WiFi signals: The problem with Wi-Fi reception appears when the device is held snugly in landscape orientation with two hands, a position common when playing games or using the widescreen keyboard. The app is very similar to the iPhone version, but the extra real estate offered by the iPad clearly allowed Apple engineers to offer a FaceTime experience much closer to the Mac version of the app.
Like with every other versions of FaceTime, the interface is extremely simple. The menu bar located at the bottom of the iPhone app has been redesigned, and the control buttons, such as 'mute', 'end call' and 'switch camera', are now grouped inside a window located near the bottom of the iPad screen. It is also important to note that the presence of FaceTime feature in iOS 4.3 also gives clue that Apple may launch iPad before launching any latest iOS and iPad come with iOS 4.3. It it will be thinner, lighter and faster than the current iPad and with no Retina Display to go with it. There’s also said to be a front-facing camera for video conferencing, but the much-discussed display resolution will remain “similar” to the current iPad.
According to WSJ: As for the network: The new iPad will be available through Verizon Wireless and AT&T Inc., but not Sprint Nextel Corp. or T-Mobile USA in the U.S., according to some of the people familiar with the matter. | Debian GNU / Linux Project 6.0 “Squeeze” Has Released Posted: 08 Feb 2011 11:47 PM PST Debian 6.0 (codenamed Squeeze) has been unleashed after a 24-month development period. Debian spokesman Alexander Reichle-Schmehl said the release came a week short of two years of development. The latest stable release, Lenny, was held on February 14, 2009.
Debian GNU / kFreeBSD port both 32 – and 64-bit PC version of the FreeBSD kernel in Debian user space, becoming the first release of Debian Linux without a kernel. The Debian Project is serious about the sample label technology, however, these versions of FreeBSD based have limited advanced desktop. The Debian 6.0 installer is better and easier to use than ever before and is now available in 70 languages. You can select language and keyboard settings, partition your logical volumes, RAID and encrypted systems without trouble. Btrfs and ext4 filesystems are finally supported in this release. To speed up and improve stability during system start-up, Debian 6.0 introduces a dependency based boot system. The parallel execution of boot scripts and the precise dependency tracking between them made it possible. Within either Linux or FreeBSD, Debian 6.0 includes the usual range of desktop environments: KDE Plasma, GNOME, Xfce and LXDE desktop environment will all be on board. Tighten introduces a dependency-based startup, so the system boot faster and more robust due to parallel execution of startup scripts and correct dependency tracking including Reichle-Schmehl said. "Several other changes make Debian more appropriate for small portable form factor, as the introduction of the KDE Plasma Netbook shell." The new packages available with Sueeze include the browser chrome, Icing monitoring solution, the software package management interface of the Centre, wicd network manager, tools LXC Linux container and corosync cluster framework. The video lasts only 23 seconds. Pocket-lint has exclusive pictures and a leaked video of the Optimus 3D. There were rumors of LG's new smartphone having 3D capabilities, but apart from a leaked image, there was nothing more.
The video starts off with the camera panning across different angles of the Optimus 3D. It later says, “Finally, a smartphone that sees the world like we do” followed by “Entering a new dimension with LG Optimus” on the screen. Google Translate works when you input text either through typing or by recording your speech (speech support only for 15 languages as opposed to 50). Once the text is input, Google Translate will look up the meaning of the words for you, translating them into the language of your choice.
