Turn Partial-Text RSS Feeds into Full Text the Easy Way

Subscribing to RSS feeds in our favorite reader should save us time. The entire point of subscribing to a feed is having all of our favorite reading material in one place. When bloggers choose to only feed part of a post through RSS, readers must click a Read More link that then sends them to the feed’s Web site.
To read the next feed from the same site, the same process must occur. Obviously, this does not save time.
Now, we understand the purpose of only feeding part of the post. We understand this move is designed to generate revenue from advertisements posted on the Web site, and we definitely appreciate revenue.
But, we have also stopped reading several blogs due to this tactic—and looked for the same material from another blogger who does not cut their RSS feeds. For frustrated readers, there is an easy fix to redeem the full text of RSS feeds (to any RSS reader) before abandoning a beloved blog.
rss
First, find the offending blog’s RSS feed URL. This is found by clicking the Subscribe button on the Web site. Sometimes the button is simply a graphical icon similar to the one above. If you do not see an obvious link, try looking for a link that says View XML. This, too, will show the feed.
subscribe
On the page that appears, copy the URL. This is the URL your favorite RSS reader uses to subscribe to the feed.
url
Go to WizardRSS.com. Paste the RSS feed’s URL in the big textbox and click Create Full Text RSS Feed.

Immediately, a new page will appear with lines of hard-to-decipher text. This is OK; we are only concerned with this page’s URL. Copy the URL of the page.

Open your favorite RSS reader. One of our favorites is Google Reader, so we will use it for the example pictures below. Find and click the button on your reader for adding a new RSS subscription.

Paste the WizardRSS generated feed URL into the textbox and click subscribe or add.

The feed should automatically list among your other subscriptions. Click the name of the feed and voilà! The posts appear in their entirety. Life is good.
